after a longlonglonglong week.
i am officially sick of Melbourne :D
and i'm very sure my sister iz too :p
20june event came and went by in a whizzzzzzzz.
i guess to the extend that we're both sick of Melbourne, i still kinda wish she was here longer. emofied when she left ): i went on a shopping spree after seeing her through the gates ):
so what did we do here in Melbourne (:
Day1: sleep + SPA at my old house + subway cookie break fast! :D
which reminds me, i didnt mention that i've shifted already! my new place iz really nice except that the kitchen iz forever dirty no matter how many times we soap clean it. my housemates apparently use alot of oil in their cooking :D
Day2: church + city tour? + massive dinner-cum-supper-cum-postsupper-cum-desserts? :D
a very gloomy day and it RAINED. crabsticks. we randomly took the free tourist shuttle and almost got lost :D terrible. first and last time on that tourist shuttle! after that Keith was nice to meet us for dinner (: and singgih tagged along. it was a massive night of eating :D
dinner: prata with curry, roti john, nasi rendeng thingy
supper: San Churros Cafe. hot chocolate with a blob of ice cream *YUM, and spanish dough pieces with chocolate fondue. *YUMYUM
post-supper: Freddos gelato icecream :D they have a roche flavour..
postpost-dessert: Kripsy Kreme! :D we bought 12dozen donuts at the factory outlet. and sampled a FRESHLY baked donut. saw the wall glaze and how the donut was made. (:sometimes i wonder how come my tummy never seems to be full. delicious (:
Day3: Shrine of Remembrance + St. Kilda's + Docklands
sun was out! (: we decided to take the recommended walk around the secret gardens in Melbourne city. YA RIGHT. we walked only 8 out of the 24stops. haha okay, the walks were boring and tiring :pso we decided to skip everything else and took the tram down to the beach! (: stopping over for ColdRock ice cream first :p
we actually wanted to head over to the tallest residential building in the city to watch sunset, but we hung around too long at the beach (: but it was still perfect. sunset along the beach (: walking without shoes, feeling the lovely sand between your toes, admiring the sun as it sets beyond the horizon (:met john at docklands for dinner at hot chocolate and fish'n'chippery! (: big piece of fish for $8.50 iz really worth it (: considering fish isnt very cheap here (: was a really nice time catching up with an old friend and neighbour (: which naturally my sister and john has alot in common because they're both medical students. and i would juz listen cuz i dun understand anything :p which made me realize that i really need to brush up on my intellectual knowledge of things..
Day4: Fitzroy Garden + St. Patrick's Cathedral + Parliament + Crown
another nice sunny day (: got our tickets to the musical!!! :D stopped over at treasury gardens, walked through without seeing anything. Fiztroy garden, walked around the paths. lotsa trees and there was a model tudor village! those small dwarf houses were soooo cute! but it wasnt open for public access ): headed in the general direction of the city and landed at St. Patrick's Cathedral. nice photo place. walked further general direction and got back to the city. more photos of the parliament building and its steps. and den it decided to rain. NOT FUN. walked in the rain for like 987654321mins to find the restaurant Keith recommended for good tangy chicken pizza!
dinner: Mark's place. wedges. tangy chicken pizza, seafood fetuccine.
dessert: subway cookies!
post-dessert: Max Brenner's. my sister had a white chocolate, and an american marshmallow chocolate for me. and we shared a chocnutbrowniewithicecream. yummmmthis was the day we were STUFFED. literally :p
keith came down and brought us to see the fire show display at Crown Casino :p but because we were too early, they decided to go into the Casino. *&^%$#@! haha, and they didnt get checked for their ID. but i didnt manage to pass through unchecked! ROAR! deliberately they walked past different entry points to see if the security would still check my ID. BUT! i was smart :p i didnt smile while walking past :p soooo, i only got checked once! woots! :D
Day5: SHOPPING + WICKED! (:
the best day in the week? :D SHOPPING! (: keith recommended the nike factory outlet along smith street. upon arrival, we realised that it isnt juz nike there. there's adidas, new balance, brooks, converse, ripcurl, sadie, timberland, kathmandu, champion and lotsssss more. in the 5shops we walked into, we bought at least one item from each :p but of cuz we're talking about $20-$40 per shop :p headed for pancakes at pancake parlour! den to the direct factory outlet mall and shopped half of it before keith picked us up for dinner at nasi lemak house!
dinner: Nasi Lemak House. 5different dishes shared among 5 people. curry, fried mee, nasi lemak x2, kwayteow (:
rushed to Regent to catch our musical! (: it was WICKED. seriously wickedly good (: i'm starting to tink i might get addicted to watching musicals (: and i learnt that in the Wizard of Oz show, the wicked witch of the west was a good person pushed and forced to take that route. and she did not die. wow. but watching it blew my mind away (: i'll share a few quotes in my next post i guess (: hopefully i rem them (:after dinner, we went for LATE NIGHT supper (:
supper: cookies and cream CHEESECAKE (: yummmm. i love my cheesecakes (: at any time of the day (:
Day6: Mt.Dandenong + Doncaster + Lifegroup
John was nice to join us for a day. he drove us up to Mt.Dandenong to see trees. LOL. nah, he asked around and brought us to this place with like deliciously sumptuous pies :p but cuz we went there too early, the soup wasnt ready yet O.o we got directed to a scenic lookout (not the one we were looking for - but we didnt know) so we walked down into the forest trying to find what we're looking for. we ended up walking for 1hour in a circle in improper trekking attires! AH! but it was a good walk, worked up our appetites (:lunch: pie in the sky(sky pie:p). pie floaters + chicken korma pie + ice choc + bowl of chips!
after lunch, we got directions to the right scenic lookout point: SkyHiGH. overlooked the city of Melbourne (: more photos.
left, headed for Doncaster shopping centre to be there only to be awed by the enormousity of the place. came back for lifegroup.after lifegroup, we went for naddie's last supper :p
supper: 6dishes shared among 7people. 2bowls of congee, horfun(not soggy:p), youtiao, 1whole roasted duck and roasted pork with rice.
Day7: naddie left ):John was nice to push back his appointment to send naddie to the airport. so after walking around the very boring airport. naddie went in and i felt emo so i bought jellybeans. skybused myself back to city after naddie left. shopped at DFO and got myself an $8.80 bag. good deal. love it. trained back to BoxHill and bought my mirror, clothes rack and grocery shopped a little.
end of day.
haven calculated our total spenditure for these past 6days. but i definitely know for sure that more than 50% of the cost will be on food. haha x)
i miss naddie now.
and i'm nuturing a serious sleep debt now. reaching home at midnight on the average for the past 6days. waking up at 730am to cook/wash/etc. i need to sleep.
and i hate the internet today.
everything iz lagging and not working juz when i desperately needed it ):
good night world.Labels: pics x)
